In the music video of the song 'Happier' by Marshmello ft. Bastille, the story of the girl and her dog is one of happiness, hope, and sadness. The video starts off with a girl sad on her birthday and gets a dog which makes her happy. I also get happy in this part because she's happy.Then it shows her time with the dog as she measures herself and the dog, and plays soccer with it. When she's sad the dog cheers her up but stops playing with her. This makes me worried because I know that this means the dog might die in the video. After months pass by, the dog is about to die and when she's sad he comforts her. This also makes me sad because I don't want the dog to die since the girl and the dog are so happy together. The reason for the dog's death is omitted. 20 years later, she gets a dog for her child who's just as happy as she was when she got her first dog. This makes me happy because I want the child to have as many happy memories as her mom did. The message relayed in this video is when things are not in hand and control, you have to let it go and move on in your life for your happiness. In the video, the dog's death is not in the girl's control, so she has to get over her sorrow and move on in her life.
The girl's emotional relationship with animals is being used to attract my attention. Their is a loving and caring lifestyle in the video. It is shown that family and friends are important because they are getting together to celebrate. It is shown to be important to give gifts that one likes because they give gifts that make her happy.
I love animals and dogs and want one myself (though I can't have one), so I understand the girl's  emotions throughout the video for her dog. I understand her sorrow that she can't have her dog after his uncontrollable death and that she has to move on so I can clearly understand the video's message. Other people may not understand her love for animals like I do and so may not understand the video's message like I do.

   In the documentary, Miss Representation , the issue of young girls being influenced by media to only value how they look like is presented. Media also causes the issue of devaluation of women by men who also value how girls look like. Men are learning to hold power sexually and women are learning that only their body matters. Women are then stereotypically perceived to be weak while men are expected to be masculine and strong. Women are only shown to be used sexually and are devalued because to men it seems that only a woman's body matters. This is because men hold a lot of power in our society.
