In this article a 18-year old is critically injured and in coma. His mother had little say in his medicare and wanted to get legal guardianship to make decisions for her son. Some may think that the doctor should have all the say in medicare because doctors know best and parents can make the wrong decisions.

Others may say parents should have some say in the decisions for their children because doctors may not care enough for the patient to make the right decisions or may not thoroughly do the job. I have known a case where this is to be true. One of my friend's dad was not thoroughly checked and so they could not properly treat him and he died of a heart attack. This is why I think that the parents should have some say in medicare although I think doctors should also have some say in medicare because they know best in their profession. I also think it should be up to each person who they want to trust: either the doctor or their parents.

The values in the article is trust, since it's his life and that's what the decisions are made over. High school is another value since it is mentioned in the article a celebration over him graduating from high school.

   In the documentary, Miss Representation , the issue of young girls being influenced by media to only value how they look like is presented. Media also causes the issue of devaluation of women by men who also value how girls look like. Men are learning to hold power sexually and women are learning that only their body matters. Women are then stereotypically perceived to be weak while men are expected to be masculine and strong.
