My Relationship with Media

Media has played a big part in my life. Since I was little I have used media for entertainment, education, and information purposes. My mom would take me to the library and we would read together storybooks which encouraged me to develop my liking to fiction and fantasy books. I have always been reading since then as a form of entertainment because as a kid I did not have video games until later when 11 when I first got my nintendo DSI. The only experience to games for me was old computer games and online games. I got my first laptop in third grade and in fourth and fifth grade I was introduced to math games and other websites such as coolmath games to play games on. I read at home and at school with my friends. I also spent a lot of my free time at home watching movies and cartoons. I liked watching Qubo which taught me many things some of which consisted of science, morals, life-lessons and values. I would stay up late watching Qubo, enjoying myself to my heart's content. Watching TV and reading books caused me to need glasses which I got when I was seven. Another cartoon place was KVIE which I once pulled an old nighter watching with my sister. Later, when I was too old for cartoons, my mom allowed me to watch movies on my laptop every Friday. In fifth grade, my friend introduced me to anime which I started watching secretly while doing my homework. Besides that, music was always part of my life. My mom would sing me lullabies to sleep and I listened to music on the radio and in the morning to school and in the car on vacation my family would listen to pakistani music from CDs. I did not listen to music as much when I was little but now days I listen to music while working too. In school, I was educated using books, projectors, and computers. We were taught to create stories, send our homework online, and print essays from computers and laptops. We use laptops in school for education purposes to finish our work and we do test on them now days. We are assigned to do reading for homework and in class from books. Furthermore, I watched advertisements to get the toys I wanted. I'd quickly write down the number of the advertisement so that I can try to convince my dad to buy me the toy later that I wanted. I read some magazines in waiting places when I was bored and recently have teared out advertisements from one in my critical thinking class.
Do you think you ever saw Madison and Vine (advertisement placement in TV shows) in the cartoons you watched? Do you think the shows you watched sparked your interest such as hobbies or toys you wanted?
