The video Reflection by Hannah Park is about a girl who loves skating and is about to give away her skates because of what other people think, but her reflection stops her. The video starts off with the girl's memory of the fun she had skating. Then it shows her looking at her skates and putting on makeup. Then some girls walk in making fun of her makeup and sweat when she skates. At this part I feel indignant because it is wrong to make fun of who someone is. Because of the girls, she decides to get rid of her skates by giving them to the sports store but after her reflection chases after her to stop her, she listens to her reflection and keeps the skates, wipes off her makeup and decides to embrace herself as who she is. I feel sad when she starts walking to give the skates to the sports store. I feel tense when the reflection starts running after her to stop her from giving away her skates. This makes me happy and rejoyceful because I wanted her to be happy with her skates instead of caring about what other people think.

In the beginning of the video, the girls talk about how she tries to pretty up her ugly face with makeup. She later wipes off her makeup showing that she only did it for other people, and doesn't like putting on makeup. In the end, she decides against getting rid of her skates because she loves them and she loves skating. Her reflection which is herself, knows what the right thing to do is and runs after her to stop her from getting rid of her skates.
Techniques used in this video to attract my attention is the animation since some people like things animated rather than seeing real life. The music and sound create a certain mood and storyline which makes the video interesting. In the beginning of the video, a sorrowful yet happy tune is played, and after that, when the girls show up a sorrowful tune is played. When her reflection runs after her a determined tune is played, and then the tune changes to a sweet happy tune when she changes her mind and starts skating. This all contribute to the emotions the watcher feels throughout the video, making the video more enjoyable.

    I think this is a very inspiring short because it a promotes an idea that not only girls but everyone should be allowed to do and be whatever what they want. The videos use on animation I considered very well done because in the scene where the reflection is trying to catch her i thought it was interesting something i had never seen before.My overall opinion of the video was that it was well done supporting a good message and it was very creative.

   In the documentary, Miss Representation , the issue of young girls being influenced by media to only value how they look like is presented. Media also causes the issue of devaluation of women by men who also value how girls look like. Men are learning to hold power sexually and women are learning that only their body matters. Women are then stereotypically perceived to be weak while men are expected to be masculine and strong.
